This Week’s Picks

After one of the strongest Crumbl lineups I’ve seen in quite some time, this week’s menu had a tough act to follow. While there were still some good options, the “fan favorites” theme didn’t hit quite as hard for me personally, especially since several of the featured desserts relied on flavors and ingredients I usually avoid. My picks this time were the Biscoff Skillet, Caramel Shortbread, Strawberry Ice Cream Bar, and S’mores Cookie Thins. In addition, I finally tried the Chocolate Strawberry Cup as well. Most of the options for this week have been offered in the past, with only the Marbled Stuffed Cheesecake being new for this week (and as I’ve mentioned, I’m not a fan of cheesecake so I didn’t try it).

Biscoff Skillet

Biscoff makes somewhat regular appearances in Crumbl desserts, and it always works out well. I usually like the skillet cookies from Crumbl, and this wasn’t an exception; I’m particularly a fan of how the cookie stays soft throughout the week while also maintaining its freshness, even if not refrigerated. The Biscoff paired well with the mousse, and while I can’t remember for certain if I’d had this one before, I would certainly get it again.

Overall Rating: 8/10

Caramel Shortbread (featuring TWIX)

This is one I’ve had from Crumbl multiple times before. It does more or less give the sensation of a TWIX bar, although one issue I did face is the caramel melted pretty quickly. Sometimes, the shortbread part of this cookie itself is softer or harder; this time, it was somewhere in between. It isn’t the most memorable Crumbl cookie that reappears on the menu, but I would always consider it a safe choice.

Overall Rating: 7/10

Strawberry Ice Cream Bar

This is another cookie that I’ve seen on the menu and had before, but not in recent memory. The easiest comparison is to a Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bar, and Crumbl does a good job of making it work. The cookie is recommended to be served chilled, but I only feel that’s necessary if you really want the sensation of an ice cream bar; I personally prefer it closer to room temperature, as the cookie is softer then.

Overall Rating: 8/10

S’mores Cookie Thins

I remember the S’mores Thins were one of the first thin flavors I tried from Crumbl since they began serving them on every Thursday (now, they are fortunately served all week). The texture is different from the regular s’mores cookie, and I prefer the chewiness to the regular s’mores cookie’s more crumbly texture. Sometimes with the thins, you’ll get more marshmallow or less of it; this time, I didn’t get too much of it, but the cookies were still good as usual. The one issue is the thins tend to have a shorter shelf life than the other cookies, so I’d recommend finishing them within a few days.

Overall Rating: 6.5/10

Bonus: Chocolate Strawberry Cup

Honestly, I wasn’t too keen on the strawberry cups, but decided to try one just to see how they were before they stopped selling them. I was fairly disappointed by it. Unless you’re planning to eat the whole thing in one sitting (which I usually don’t), you end up faced with one of two problems: leave it out, and the strawberries go bad quickly, or refrigerate it, and the chocolate hardens and doesn’t go as well with the strawberries, at least in terms of texture. I would say it’s definitely not worth the $9.99 price, and the quality of the chocolate itself doesn’t seem on par with most of the chocolate they use for other desserts. I didn’t completely dislike the dessert, and the quality of the strawberries seemed good, but it was the biggest let down of the week.

Overall Rating: 4.5/10

Would I Buy It Again?

Definitely

  • Biscoff Skillet
  • Strawberry Ice Cream Bar

Maybe

  • Caramel Shortbread
  • S’mores Cookie Thins

Probably Skip

  • Chocolate Strawberry Cup

Dessert of the Week

The toss up is between the Biscoff Skillet and the Strawberry Ice Cream Bar, but if I had to choose one, it would probably be the Biscoff Skillet. It combines everything I usually enjoy from Crumbl’s skillet-style desserts: a soft cookie base, a generous topping, and flavors that work well together. I went through it more quickly than any of the other desserts this week, and I’m sure it’ll find its way back to the menu in the future, which I look forward to.

Overall Weekly Rating

Overall Rating: 7/10

While this week’s menu didn’t reach the heights of last week’s lineup, there were still several worthwhile choices. The Biscoff Skillet and Strawberry Ice Cream Bar stood out as clear highlights, while the Chocolate Strawberry Cup ultimately felt more like a novelty item than something I’d actively recommend. Overall, it was a good week, just not one that demanded a second trip the way last week’s menu did.

Final Thoughts

One challenge with a “fan favorites” lineup is that everyone’s favorites are different. Several of this week’s most popular offerings relied heavily on cheesecake and cream cheese frosting, which fall outside my personal preferences. That doesn’t necessarily mean those desserts weren’t good—it just means this particular lineup wasn’t designed with my tastes in mind. I would say the one issue with a “fan favorites” week is since everyone has different tastes, your own may be very different from the majority. Cream cheese, cheesecake, and Dubai-style products all seem pretty popular at Crumbl, despite the fact that I have no interest in them.

Once again, I’ve had a peek at next week’s menu, and there are some new items that I’m very excited to try; look out for my next weekly take on Crumbl’s desserts.
