This Week’s Picks
The Crumbl theme this week was effectively another fan favorite one, although this time it was described as a “People’s Choice” week, featuring flavors that fans actually voted on. As someone who follows Crumbl pretty closely, I was surprised I never heard about the actual vote or saw where it was taking place. Apparently, fans voted on the site with different categories being featured, including chocolate (the winner of which was the S’mores Brownie Cookie), fruity (the winner being the Banana Cream Pie Cookie), non-cookie dessert (with the Dubai-Style Chocolate Brownie as the winner), and spiced (which was won by the Snickerdoodle Skillet Cookie). The Ice Cream Cake Sandwich Cookie was introduced as a new cookie this week. The majority of these sounded very appealing to me, and I selected five options: the Ice Cream Cake Sandwich Cookie, Cookies & Cream White Chip Cookie, S’mores Brownie Cookie, Snickerdoodle Skillet Cookie, and Banana Cream Pie Cookie.
Ice Cream Cake Sandwich Cookie
This one I was very excited to try, as sugar cookies and buttercream always pair well, especially within Crumbl desserts. The cookies themselves had a similar texture to shortbread, and the frosting was more like buttercream that would be featured on a cake rather than a cookie. Despite the pink color suggesting a fruit flavor, the buttercream is vanilla, which makes sense in that Crumbl may not have wanted to take too many risks when testing a completely new dessert. The cookie is very good looking aesthetically, but doesn’t feel too far beyond Crumbl’s ordinary standards.

Cookies & Cream White Chip Cookie
Usually this type of cookie from Crumbl doesn’t end up being one of my weekly favorites, but I feel they must have done something different this time, because it was definitely better than I remember. The flavors were stronger than usual, and it felt like there was more in the actual cookie. I remember cookies & cream chip cookies from Crumbl being alright but generally forgettable, and while most of the other options this week were more enticing, this one made more of a mark on my memory than expected. My guess is some parts of the recipe were altered slightly to improve upon what is normally a very average cookie.

S’mores Brownie Cookie
This cookie is essentially a combination of Crumbl’s S’mores Cookie and their Brownie Batter Cookie, which both used to hold places on the Classic Flavors lineup before Crumbl decided to trim it down a bit earlier this year. Both of them were in my opinion some of the best options from the Classic menu, and combining them worked out pretty well in this case. The marshmallows weren’t completely melted (as sometimes happens with Crumbl desserts with marshmallows), but two large ones were clearly incorporated, when in the past I remember sometimes just a couple small marshmallows or one large one. The combo of brownie batter and graham cracker works well, with the batter offering more chocolate to the s’mores cookie which usually doesn’t feature much more chocolate than a drizzle.

Snickerdoodle Skillet Cookie
I’m always a fan of Crumbl’s skillet cookies, and while I’ve seen snickerdoodles take many forms on Crumbl lineups, I believe this is the first time I’ve had it as a skillet cookie. This meant the cookie itself was much softer, and the added cinnamon mousse enhanced the flavors and spices that snickerdoodles are known for greatly. The only issue I really had was the mousse was pretty clumped together, and the cookie is most enjoyable when there’s an even balance between the mousse and the cookie with each bite, so I’d recommend trying to spread it out a bit.

Banana Cream Pie Cookie
I definitely remember having this cookie or some version of it in the past, and it’s never disappointing. If you’ve ever had Crumbl’s banana pudding that they’ve released a few times, it’s basically the same ingredients but formed into a cookie rather than pudding. It very much offers the experience of eating a real banana cream pie, with the pudding being a good consistency and the soft pie crust cookie complementing it in its texture. The cookie and pudding stay fresh for a little more than a few days, but the banana elements might start turning brown quickly if not refrigerated.

Dessert of the Week
So many of the options this week were very good, but as expected, dessert of the week goes to the Ice Cream Cake Sandwich Cookie. This is mainly because it’s a new idea from them that ended up working very successfully, and while many of the other cookies were equally good, they were safer choices as they had been done (in at least some format) before.

This week had so many good and satisfying options that I found myself going back for an entire additional four-pack, featuring the Ice Cream Cake Sandwich Cookie, S’mores Brownie Cookie, Snickerdoodle Skillet Cookie, and Banana Cream Pie Cookie.
Final Thoughts
I remember seeing this lineup teased a little earlier than usual; a few weeks ago rather than a few days before the lineup dropped. I was actually somewhat unsure of the choices until I saw them officially, which was when I knew it was going to be a good week. I do wish I had the opportunity to vote in the selection process that took place, but I agreed for the most part with the final decisions (the Dubai-Style Chocolate Brownie has been a highly popular item for Crumbl, so its inclusion was understandable as well even though it wasn’t something I’d go for).
Next week is Crumbl’s birthday-themed week, and also unfortunately one of the first weeks in a while I’m not particularly looking forward to, as there are only a few choices on the lineup that interest me.
