This Week’s Picks
This week Crumbl decided to do a “country” theme, featuring mostly cookies and items that it had done in the past, with two new ones. After being somewhat disappointed by last week’s lineup, this one was definitely a significant improvement. Only two desserts featured cream cheese frosting; the Pumpkin Square is likely a great choice for those who are fans of the frosting, and the Snickerdoodle Cupcake Cookie is one that I have seen on the menu several times. I ended up getting the Midnight S’mores Cookie, Blueberry Muffin Cookie, Strawberries ‘n’ Cream Cookie, and Peanut Butter Milkshake Cookie.
Midnight S’mores Cookie

I felt this cookie was effectively the same as Crumbl’s regular S’mores Cookie, only with flipped proportions of graham cracker and chocolate. The cookie itself is chocolate rather than graham cracker, and instead of hints of chocolate or chocolate drizzle there are sprinkles of graham cracker crumbs on top. I was also glad to find the marshmallow was pretty well melted, which is sometimes not the case with these cookies. It’s an interesting and new take on their S’mores Cookie, but it isn’t exactly one of the bigger standouts of the week.
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Blueberry Muffin Cookie

This cookie I remember having before and always enjoying. The cookie is soft and includes hints of a muffin-like and blueberry flavor, and there are a good number of actual blueberries within the cookie, although some of them were a bit concentrated towards certain parts of the cookie. The sweetness of the glaze and streusel on top add to the vibe that while blueberry muffins might be something one eats for breakfast, this cookie is definitely meant to be a dessert item.
Overall Rating: 8/10
Strawberries ‘n’ Cream Cookie

This cookie is similar to Crumbl’s Strawberry Shortcake in terms of ingredients, but in a cookie rather than cake format. The cookie itself is similar to Crumbl’s skillet cookies with its soft texture and raised edges, and the jam and strawberries are up to par in terms of Crumbl’s usual quality. This one I would recommend keeping refrigerated, taking it out maybe 15-30 minutes before eating. Because this dessert is also a bit lighter than the others, I found myself finishing it much more quickly than them; the initial one I bought was gone within three days.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
Peanut Butter Milkshake Cookie ft. Butterfinger

This was one of the new items that I was most looking forward to trying, and it definitely managed to reach my high expectations. The cookie was a soft peanut butter cookie, with a soft peanut butter buttercream frosting as well as Butterfinger bits. Crumbl does frequent collaborations with Reese’s for peanut butter related items, but this is the first time I recall seeing them do something with Butterfinger instead. Butterfinger does have a slightly different flavor and very different texture from Reese’s, and while the change in texture wasn’t present, the differing flavor from Reese’s was notable.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10

Dessert of the Week
It was very close this week between the Strawberries ‘n’ Cream Cookie and the Peanut Butter Milkshake Cookie, but as Crumbl took a risk and did something new with the latter, the Peanut Butter Milkshake Cookie is going to serve as dessert of the week.

Overall Rating: 8/10
It was nice to have a lineup with a good number of items I was excited about, and I did end up going back for seconds on every cookie other than the Midnight S’mores Cookie this week.
Final Thoughts
Looking into other people’s thoughts on the menu, some were disappointed certain favorites didn’t make an appearance, like the Cornbread Cookie or other butter cookies, but I felt it was good that Crumbl had a good mixture of older favorites with some new options that they had never tried before. The theme also feels like a good transition into October, with a pumpkin flavor alongside other cookies that aren’t technically fall-themed but still feel suitable for the end of the summer.
Next week is supposed to be a “fall” theme, although there isn’t quite as much of a theme regarding the available choices; however, there will be multiple collaborations featured, including one of my favorite Crumbl desserts of all time.
