This Week’s Picks
I had mixed feelings about the menu featuring only thin cookies this week. On one hand, the thins are pretty good and I was looking forward to trying cookies that we had never seen featured as thins. On the other hand, the thins don’t stay fresh as long as the normal Crumbl cookies, and that becomes an issue if, like me, you prefer to eat your desserts over the course of a week. Crumbl did however feature some options from the “fan favorites” menu two weeks ago, so I was able to get some safe choices. From the thins menu, I decided to get the Mallow Thin Sandwich Cookie, Red Velvet Cookie Thins, Strawberry Cookie Thins, Brownie Batter Cookie Thins, as well as the M&M’S® MINIS Cookie Thins during a second stop later in the week. From the “fan favorite” options, I got the Biscoff Skillet during my first visit and the Strawberry Ice Cream Bar during my second.
Mallow Thin Sandwich Cookie
This cookie wasn’t just two thin cookies; it featured a cookies & cream filling and was clearly inspired by Oreos. Crumbl has released similar versions of this idea before, but usually the cookie will either be crunchy or simply not thin. In this case, the cookie parts were soft, and the filling was very much like the filling of an Oreo cookie. I found myself needing a fork for this one; if you were to try to eat it with your hands, it would likely get messy and fall apart. Ultimately, it was this cookie that made me decide to go back a second time during the week. However, I did run into an issue: the first Crumbl I ordered from was sold out of them when I arrived, which is why I settled on getting the Strawberry Ice Cream Bar as a replacement. There was another Crumbl a 20-minute walk away, and I had been saving up points from my purchases, so I was able to get it from that one without paying extra.

Red Velvet Cookie Thins
I always like red velvet, and this is one of the rare cases it wasn’t paired with cream cheese frosting. These ones are pretty similar to the Cookies & Cream Cookie Thins, featuring the same white drops and drizzle, but with a red velvet base rather than an Oreo-like one.

Strawberry Cookie Thins
These were one of the new thins I was looking forward to the most, and while the cookies were decent, the strawberry element in them didn’t feel significant enough. There was nothing about them that I actively disliked, but I wish there was a bit more strawberry flavor in them.

Brownie Batter Cookie Thins
Of the classic cookie menu, my favorite has always been the Brownie Batter Cookie. I haven’t gotten one in a while, however, as I try to keep my focus on the rotating flavors for the most part. They were as good as expected, and because the thins are a bit soft and chewy, they felt more like an actual brownie than the classic cookie normally does. Once again though, after a few days they will start to harden a bit and lose that texture, so I’d recommend finishing them up within that period for the best experience.

Bonus: M&M’S® MINIS Cookie Thins
A lot of the time, cookies made with M&Ms tend to be hard, and these ones appeared that way in person. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how soft they were when I tried them. There weren’t quite as many M&Ms in them as I would have liked, and after a few days they would likely go hard in consistency, but I still enjoyed them for what they were.

Dessert of the Week
Dessert of the week definitely goes to Mallow Thin Sandwich Cookie, as I expected it would even before trying every cookie. It was the one good enough to convince me to go back a second time this week, and honestly I liked it better than the normal Oreo-inspired sandwich cookies that Crumbl has had on the menu in the past (mainly because of its softer consistency).

Most of the thin cookie options were good this week and it was nice to see ones that had never been done before, but it would have been nice to have some other options. On both occasions I made my visits, most of the “fan favorites” from two weeks ago were available, but having had them so recently (with none really being on a very high level) made them a bit less appealing this time around.
Final Thoughts
There are benefits and drawbacks to the cookie thins, much of which I’ve already mentioned. One of the benefits is that (other than in the case of the Mallow Thin Sandwich Cookie) two cookies are included in an order of the thins, and as I said, it was exciting to get some new flavors for the thins (like the Brownie Batter, Red Velvet, and Strawberry). Ultimately, however, I feel this menu is best for people who plan to finish eating their order within a few days rather than a week, as the thins, while still holding their flavor, aren’t as fresh by the end of the week and end up being crunchy rather than soft and chewy, as they are intended to be.
